In the bottom of the second innings of the Adelaide Test, Indian bowlers were battling for wickets. Jasprit Bumrah took the only wicket while the queue of wickets of Harshit Rana and Mohammad Siraj remained empty. However, Siraj got into a heated argument with one of his bowlers. In a video that went viral, Siraj can be seen bowling the ball at a speed of 181.6 kmph. The incident happened when Siraj was in the 10th over and Australia were in the 25th over of their innings.

It is believed that the speed measuring device malfunctioned during Siraj’s delivery, causing the ball’s speed to be recorded incorrectly. Shoaib Akhtar holds record for fastest bowled ball
The world cricket record for the fastest bowled ball has been registered in the name of former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. Akhtar struck fear into all batsmen of his time with his sharp bowling. In the 2003 ODI World Cup against England, he bowled the ball at a speed of 161.3 kph. His record remains unbroken for 21 years. It is noteworthy that Akhtar bowled at speeds of 153.3, 158.4, 158.5, 157.4 and 159.5 kph in the same over. The leadoff batsman was Nick Knight. Akhtar threw it at the maiden.
